According to the Oak Bay Police Department, an 85-year-old man who resided at a residence on Hall Road heard a knock on his front door around 8:30 a.m. on November 3. Believing it to be a newspaper delivery person, Oak Bay police say the man answered the door and was greeted by a young woman wearing a long black coat and skirt, who allegedly said, “I’m coming in.” After being denied entry, a struggle ensued and the woman ended up pushing the man, who was caught by a neighbor who had rushed over when he heard what was happening. Oak Bay Police say the woman fled the scene and was chased by the neighbor for a short distance. The neighbor managed to take a photo of the woman. The old man was shaken, but unhurt. Despite extensive patrols and searches of the neighborhood, Oak Bay police say they have been unable to locate the woman and are hoping the public can help her. The woman is described as about 5’6 and between 20-25 years old with dark brown hair. She was last seen on Beach Drive heading towards Foul Bay Road wearing a black coat, long black skirt, frilly white ankle socks, white T-shirt, black leather shoes and a yellow hat. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oak Bay Police Department at 250-592-2424.
